Risks and

discomfort

Risks and discomforts are part of undergoing an orthodontic treatment, just as with any other medical treatment.

The main risks are: teeth and bone sensitivity due to the constant pressure of the braces. Additionally, your tongue and the inside of your mouth can get irritated, especially during the first days after placement. You may experience a dry mouth or discoloration of the teeth caused by the attachments and the dyes that stick to them. There can be teeth and molars that hardly move due to ankylosis or because of severe clamping or grinding. A full list of risks and possible inconveniences will be given to you in the practice before the start of your treatment.
